PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod which has a male screw part of a reel seat body, and a cylinder part member fixed in a concentric circle shape, and in which the formation of a gap when being used for fishing is prevented. SOLUTION: The fishing rod has the reel seat body 12 penetrated by a fiber-reinforced synthetic resin rod 10, having a reel-carrying face 12B and formed out of a synthetic resin material for structure, the male screw part to be screwed in the female screw at the internal circumference of a nut member 16 for moving a movable hood in the front and rear direction, installed in one end part 12E of the body, and a rear or front grip part 24 formed out of a natural or artificial cork material or an expanded synthetic resin at the side facing to the end part of the male screw part in the front and rear direction. The fishing rod is continued to a protecting contact part 26A contacting with the end part of the grip part to protect the edge surface of the grip part, and is constituted so that the end part of the cylinder part 26B protruded to the end part of the male screw part so as to cover the fishing rod may be overlapped with the end part of the male screw part in the longitudinal direction, and an outer diameter at least at the vicinity of the end part may be shorter than the inner diameter of the spiral ridge of the male screw of the nut member.
