When the number of photographs necessary for photographing is less than the number of photographable pictures, the photographing data size is reduced or an image data recording compression ratio is increased, thereby decreasing a user's burden of ascertaining that a number of photographs necessary for photographing is less than the number of residual photographable pictures by the user himself or herself in advance in a mode for photographing at least two images.
