Production of a cup-shaped annular part (2') having an inner toothed arrangement (6) comprises forming an annular groove in the base surface (13') of a hub part (11') in the corner region between the inner surface of an annular element (3') and the base surface of the hub part so that when pressure is exerted on the front side of an open end of a blank the material of the blank flows over a stamp part into the region of the groove. An independent claim is also included for a cup-like blank used for carrying out the process. Preferred Features: The groove is formed in the bank so that its radial external side surface forms an elongation of the inner surface of the annular element of the blank. An outer toothed arrangement is produced on the outer side of the annular part in the same deformation step so that the die part on its inner surface has an inner toothed arrangement which corresponds to the outer toothed arrangement.
