摘要 PURPOSE: A white semiconductor light emitting device is provided to improve color purity and to prevent the degradation of luminance efficiency by using borate-based yellow phosphor. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor light emitting device includes a semiconductor LED(Light Emitting Diode) with an emission layer made of semiconductor and a fluorescent part with phosphor. The fluorescent part is used for absorbing light of the LED and emitting excited light. The emission layer of the LED is made of nitride-based compound semiconductor. The phosphor is formed by using a general formula of (Tb1-x-yAx)3AlzB5-zO12:Cey. The A of the formula is one selected from a group consisting of Y, Lu, Sc, La, Gd and Sm. The x, y, and z of the formula are in the range of 0 to 0.5, 0.0001 to 0.5, and 0 to 5, respectively.
