摘要 PURPOSE: A non-contact method of detecting outflow of slag with use of light is provided to prevent a sensor from being malfunctioned or broken by detecting the outflow of slag through a non-contact scheme. CONSTITUTION: A surface of molten steel is photographed by means of a CCD camera in such a manner that an electric signal is generated based on the state of molten steel. The electric signal is divided into a color signal and a brightness signal. Then, the brightness signal is converted into a temperature distribution. The color signal and the brightness signal are converted into a density level of each pixel, thereby calculating a mean density level in a monitoring area. An alarm signal is generated when the mean density level exceeds a predetermined reference level.
