A ball valve having a filtering function is provided to filter foreign material within fluid without disturbing the flow of the fluid and prevent noise and vibration in a valve. A ball valve having a filtering function opens and closes a flow path(21) controlling the fluid flux of a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet by operating an operation lever(1) and rotating a ball(20) within a valve body(10). The fluid flowed through the fluid inlet equipped in one side of the valve body is discharged through the flow path of the ball to the fluid outlet equipped in the other side of the valve body. A filtering groove(22) is equipped in ball at right angle to the flow path. The foreign material of the fluid passing through the flow path is filtered by inserting a strainer(30) into the filter groove. A foreign material drain hole(13) is equipped in the valve body. The foreign material drain hole is positioned in the bottom of the ball.
