<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and an electronic apparatus by which advanced functions and high added values can be realized. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting element including a pair of translucent electrodes is arranged on one surface side of a translucent electrode and a liquid crystal element including a pair of electrodes is arranged on the other opposite surface side of the substrate. Light obtained from a light emitting element is emitted to one surface side of the substrate and the other surface side of the substrate via the liquid crystal element.
