<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device for a vehicle capable of controlling a first pretensioner with high accuracy, even when dispersion occurs in a brake pedal stroke and a stroke sensor. <P>SOLUTION: This seat belt device is provided with a brake stroke sensor 20 for detecting a brake operation of the vehicle and a first controller 30 for controlling tension when winding the a webbing by the first pretensioner when the generation of emergency braking is determined based on detected data of the brake pedal stroke sensor 20.
