PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and inexpensive thickness continuous measuring apparatus which highly accurately and continuously performs fabric inspection on large quantities, without using a complicated and large-scale measuring apparatus, even if an object to be inspected has a black or dark color such as a felt long body or if the surface of the body to be inspected has irregularities which reflect laser light in a irregular manner. SOLUTION: The apparatus 2 for continuously measuring the thickness of the continuously traveling felt long body 6 comprises a laser beam reflector 8, arranged over the upper surface of the traveling long body 6, in such a way as to freely oscillate upward and downward, and a laser-thickness measuring apparatus 10 arranged above the laser beam reflector 8.
