PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce artificial zeolite having sufficient cation exchange capacity using waste white clay in which fat and oil portion is removed as a main raw material. SOLUTION: The artificial zeolite is produced by removing the oil and fat portion from the waste clay, adding 1.0-3.0 mol sodium hydroxide into the waste clay, heating to a prescribed temperature and stirring for a prescribed time.
