摘要 PURPOSE: A pier beam interconnecting piers, lower structures of a bridge, for increase of the load carrying capacity of the bridge and an installation method thereof are provided to prevent inelastic failure of the piers and to increase the load carrying capacity of the bridge while coping with external impact, vibration, and an earthquake. CONSTITUTION: In a pier beam interconnecting piers(20), lower structures of a bridge(10), for increase of the load carrying capacity of the bridge, concrete covering a reinforcement of the bridge is removed to make the reinforcement exposed to the outside and then a tie hoop is welded to the exposed reinforcement and a vertical reinforcement or steel strand is assembled in the axial direction of the pier. The pier is connected to vertical and horizontal reinforcements or steel stands and a form is installed to the outside and polymer mortar is cured to form a pier beam(30).
