<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tubular body used for transport, fixing, etc., which does not cause wrinkles on a sheet being transported during image fixing and has a high productivity, and to provide a method of production of the tubular body. <P>SOLUTION: The tubular body is characterised that a pattern having recesses and projections are formed on its outer circumference face. It is preferable for the recess-and-projection pattern to have a predetermined range of height. In addition, it is preferable that the main constituent of the tubular body be polyimide resin or polyamidoimide resin. Further, it is suitable to form a releasing layer or an adhesive layer on the outer circumferential face.
