<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for a diesel engine capable of supplying clean exhaust gas to the engine as EGR gas, reducing HC, CO, NO<SB>X</SB>, PM without damaging the engine, and improving fuel economy. <P>SOLUTION: In this exhaust emission control device for the diesel engine, a main body device A having a diesel particulate filter rearward an exhaust muffler and an EGR system 40 are mounted. In the EGR system 40, an EGR passage 41 that joins an intake passage 42 of an engine main body E from a downstream side of the main body device A is provided, and an EGR valve 43 is provided in the middle of the EGR passage 41. In the main body device A, an internal tank 10 filled with ammonia water is provided in an exhaust gas inlet side of a main body case 1, and a filter unit 20 is provided in an exhaust gas outlet side. Ammonia gas is produced from the ammonia water by heating the internal tank 10 by exhaust gas, and nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas react on the ammonia gas to be decomposed into nitrogen and water.
