METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REDUCING VOLUME OF SLUDGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the sufficient volumetric reduction of sludge.

SOLUTION: The subject volumetric reduction system for sludge is constituted so that excess sludge produced by activated sludge treatment in an activated sludge treatment tank 1 is ultrasonically treated in an ultrasonic treatment tank 3 and physically solubilized to be enhanced in dispersibility, the treated matter enhanced in the dispersibility and facilitated in acid fermentation is efficiently subjected to the acid fermentation in an acid fermentation tank 4 to be solubilized in a biologially reactive manner and this treated matter solubilized effectively doubly is returned to the activated sludge treatment tank 1 by an acid fermentation treated matter return line L1.
