<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To build a multicast communication system by using the larger number of edge routers than the number of bits of a header for transferring between the routers. <P>SOLUTION: The edge routers 11-14 are assigned to one of a plurality of groups #0, #1, and the router ID made of a bit string assigned by one bit at a time individually to an edge router without the groups assigned. When a packet is transmitted from a transmission terminal 21, a packet transfer part 10A of the edge routers 11-14 imparts a transfer header 81 between the routers generated from address information having the OR of a group ID indicating the group by a binary number to which a receiving side edge router belongs and each router ID of a receiving side edge router group existing in the group to the packet and transmits it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
