PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover for a carrier tape which effectively prevents a component from falling, and a method of mounting it. SOLUTION: The cover 1 for a carrier tape is used for the carrier tape 10 having a plurality of storage pockets 11a for receiving electronic components 20, a cover tape 12 for covering the pockets 11a and feed holes 11b formed on at least one of side rims. The cover 1 has a flat platelike cover body 2 with a predetermined length, a fold 3 for forming a guide slot 4 by folding one of longitudinal sides of the cover body 20, and a claw 5 formed by folding the other longitudinal side of the cover body 2. The cover is mounted via the guide slot 4 and the claw 5 slidably on both side rims of the carrier tape 10, thereby covering at least several storage pockets 11a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
