PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To streamline and correct merging and other operations on variable names by enabling a search for similar variable names across a wide range of scopes. SOLUTION: When given a search target variable name by a variable name input part 1, a search part 8 generates a two-way link structure for search across scopes in inheritance relations to the scope of the search target variable name according to variable data stored in a variable database 6, lists variable names in all the scopes linkable in the two-way link structure for search from the scope of the search target variable name, as similarity calculation target variable names, and computes similarities of the listed variables to the search target variable name with a synonym dictionary 7.
