A method for transmitting NVOD using partial staircase division patching is provided to adjust the number of channels applied to a staggered method, thereby reducing the number of video data segments and reducing the complexity of channel management. M channels are allocated to the staggered transmission cycle part of video data . The Dp part is divided into the same size of 2^m-1 transmission cycle. 2^i video data segments are periodically broadcasted and transmitted to channel C^Dp. Each of data segments in the channel C^Dp are divided into 2^i lower segments. The channel C^Dp is divided into the same size of 2^i lower channels for the each data segment in the channel C^Dp to transmit data divided into the 2^i lower segments. The divided lower channel is C^Dp1. The bandwidth of the divided lower channel is b/2^i. Lower segments are periodically transmitted in the lower channel. |
