The bed sofa is fitted with a carriage (2) stored under the seat area (1) and accommodating the central (4) and the feet supporting segment (5) of the sleeping area. For use the carriage (2) is pulled to the front and the foot part (5) rotated around a horizontal axle, pulling at a scissor type construction (3) and lifting the central segment (4). The rear edge of the foot rest (5) is attached to a rod (10) provided with a pin (6a) sliding in a slot (7a) at its opposite end. The rod (10) is divided into two segments (12, 13) in order to allow folding into a particularly compact unit.
