<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an extract so as to enhance effectiveness of a plant of the genus Bidens, especially Bidens pilosa, and to obtain a composition comprising the extract obtained by the method. <P>SOLUTION: The plant of the genus Bidens, especially the Bidens pilosa is mixed with a plant of the family Zingiberaceae such as Zingiber officinale Roscoe or Curcuma domestica Valeton and the resultant mixture is extracted with an extracting solvent to thereby produce the extract from the plant of the genus Bidens. The resultant extract is used to afford a composition exhibiting excellent effects as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent for hyperglycemia, dermatitis, pollinosis, or the like, and a cosmetic such as a skin beautifying agent or a sunscreen preparation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
