<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color variable light emitting element facilitating the control of a light emitting color with few materials, and a display employing it. <P>SOLUTION: The color variable light emitting element is composed of: an ultraviolet light emitting layer 11; a phosphor layer 12 for emitting light by being irradiated with ultraviolet light emitted from the ultraviolet light emitting layer 11; and electrodes 13 provided on both ends of the phosphor layer 12 to apply a voltage to change the light emitting color of the phosphor layer 12. While making the phosphor layer 12 emit the light by irradiating it with the ultraviolet light emitted from the ultraviolet light emitting layer 11, the voltage is applied to the electrodes 13 to thereby change the light emitting color. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
