<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which is used in printing equipment such as a laser printer, which is designed to obtain a stable optical output from a laser diode without being affected by temperature, and which is capable of minimizing noise through motor control by a sensorless control method. <P>SOLUTION: The optical scanner is equipped with: an optical system including a housing 150, a light source 111 that is arranged inside the housing 150, emits a laser beam, a mirror 114 for scanning the laser beam, and a plurality of optical elements for making the laser beam form an image on an image-forming surface; a motor 120 that is arranged inside the housing 150, rotates the mirror 114; and a driving chip 140 that is arranged outside the housing 150, controls the revolution speed of the motor 120 by a sensorless control method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
