<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device capable of quickly displaying information of battery status for a user even in a state of power-off. <P>SOLUTION: The system and method quickly and effectively display battery status and/or other parameters of the portable electronic device even in the power-off state. By storing a plurality of user-definable settings in response to the power-off state, parameters of the portable electronic device is displayed in the power-off state.
