PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a variation in remaining capacity caused by a variation in self-discharge, in a battery module constituted by combining a plurality of pieces of cell units of a secondary battery. SOLUTION: Parallel connecting bodies 13 each constituted by connecting in parallel the prescribed number of pieces of the unit cells of the secondary battery are used, and the unit cells 11 are classified into a plurality of ranks (rank A, rank B and rank C, for example) by measuring a self-discharge amount of each unit cell 11, when constituting the battery module by connecting the parallel connecting bodies 13 in series in a plurality of steps. Each parallel connecting body 13 is constituted by combining the classified unit cells so that the self-discharge amount as the parallel connecting body 13 is made uniform.
