PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stain for dyeing a microorganism in shorter time and to provide a method for detecting the microorganism by utilizing the stain. SOLUTION: The stain for microorganism comprises an alkali substance, a diazo dye or a xanthene dye. The method for detecting the microorganism comprises utilizing the stain.
