<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing abuse of a passbook or the like after the passbook has been lost by a theft and reliably confirming a withdrawing person in a financial institution. <P>SOLUTION: A seal is formed into card type, thereby making it easy to carry the seal and to manage the seal separately from a passbook or the like. The seal is always carried so that, even if the passbook or the like has been lost by a theft, withdrawal of money requiring both the seal and the passbook or the like becomes impossible to prevent abuse of the passbook. The withdrawing person confirming method using this seal eliminates the need for a complicated collating system such as a seal print collating device to enable more reliable confirmation. The time required for individual confirmation operation can be reduced and the cost of those devices can be reduced.
