<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage resale customers without constructing a system independently at customer site and to easily place orders for merchandise for the purpose of reselling it. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic commerce server 101, which is installed at a distribution source accepting orders for merchandise through electronic commerce and which is connected via a network 103 to customers' terminals 102-a, 102-b, 102-c installed at the customers' places placing orders for the merchandise with the distribution source for the purpose of reselling it, authenticates the customers based on information sent from the customers' terminals for specifying the customers, and registers information on the resale customers sent from the customers' terminals of the authenticated customers, in such a way that this information is associated with the customers.
