WATER CLEANING METHOD, WATER CLEANING UNIT, AND WATER CLEANING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water cleaning method which uses inexpensive polyacrylonitrile-based oxidized fiber having superior organism sticking property and in which the fiber can be treated easily, and to provide a water cleaning apparatus.

SOLUTION: This water cleaning method uses the molds of polyacrylonitrile-based oxidized fiber containing 4 to 15 mass % connection oxygen. The water cleaning unit contains the molds stored in net bags or metallic baskets. The water cleaning apparatus uses the molds as biomembrane carriers. The oxidized fiber molds comprise felt, fabric or knitted items with sizes which can be stored in a hollow cube with a side length of 100 mm.
