PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a capture device and a capture method, capable of easily, certainly and efficiently executing a loop charging of a minute object such as a protein crystal. SOLUTION: In this capture device, the crystal 1 inside a droplet 2 placed in a prescribed position on a base 3 is grasped by a grasp mechanism 4, the crystal 1 grasped by the grasp mechanism 4 is captured by a capture mechanism 5, and the captured crystal 1 is separated from the droplet 2.
