PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing apparatus and its method in which a camera that generates image data can be easily decided with high reliability. SOLUTION: It is decided whether or not first image data of a target to be decided are generated by a predetermined image generating apparatus in which there is intrinsic diffusion in the photo-sensitivity of each photo-detector and which generates image data on the basis of photo-detected results of a plurality of the photo-detectors. A correlation detecting part 5 detects a correlation between the first image data and second image data for reference which are generated by using the predetermined image generating apparatus.
