PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover an image to the frequency characteristics of the original image through a filter process using an inverse function, by previously defining the inverse function of the amplitude transfer function according to the change, even when the amount of zooming, the amount of defocusing and the amount of diaphragming are changed. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus, an image is imaged after passing an optical system by an imaging means. In an imaging process of an image A photographed by an image processing means, an image B obtained by the imaging means is so treated that the image after passing through the optical system is restored to an image 8, having frequency characteristics of before passing through the optical system through an MTF filter 5 as the inverse function of the transfer function, according to an optical adjustment amount to the optical system.
