PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slipping detection device capable of achieving favorable slipping detecting precision in a continuously variable transmission even when a driving state of a vehicle is not stationary. SOLUTION: In this slipping detection device for a continuously variable transmission connected to a power source, a slipping determination means (for steps S70-S90) is provided to determine generation of slipping when a speed change instruction value for the continuously variable transmission or a differential value for the speed change instruction value based on a request for output increase to the power source is a prescribed value or more on the downshift side, and in a case where it is a reference value or less on the downshift side or another reference value or more on the upshift side.
