PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of formats usable with a clipboard. SOLUTION: A clipboard format adapted to store the relative positions of graphical objects when displaying the objects on an output device is provided. The objects and the relative object positions are transferred to new locations on the output device in order to display the graphical objects in the same relative object positions.
