PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a film, which contains no chlorine in its structure and is excellent in oxygen gas barrier properties under a high humidity condition, and a laminate thereof under a milder condition than before. SOLUTION: This gas barrier laminate (3) is manufactured by heat-treating a gas barrier laminate (1), which is constituted of a plastic base material, a gas barrier layer (D), which is formed of coating (C) for forming a gas barrier layer containing a polyalcohol type polymer (A) and an olefin/maleic acid copolymer (B) (excepting a combination of polyvinyl alcohol and an ethylene/maleic acid copolymer), and a polymer layer (F) containing a divalent or more metal compound (E) and characterized in that a polymer layer (F) containing a divalent or more metal compound (E) is laminated on at least one side of the gas barrier layer (D), in the presence of water.
