<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an arc tube capable of suppressing the occurrence of defective products. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes a softening process softening a straight-like glass tube 160 in a heating furnace 170, a transfer/installation process which transfers the softened glass tube 160 and installs on the top part of the forming tool 180, and a winding up process winding up the glass tube 160 installed on the forming tool 180 to the outer periphery of the forming tool 180. The forming tool 180 is disposed under the glass tube 160 starting softening, and the glass tube 160 is suspended when the softened glass tube 160 is installed on the top part of the forming tool 180. In the winding up process, the winding-up speed winding the glass tube to the forming tool 180 is made to be faster than the moving speed which the chuck parts 197, 198 holding the end part of the glass tube 160 move to the forming tool 180 side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
