PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle to work with a shift map for an automatic transmission which is changed in compliance with the drop of the engine performance. SOLUTION: The control device includes an ECU 1000 to control the vehicle fitted with a CVT 300 and an engine 100 to enter a power to the CVT 300. The CVT 300 executes the shifting on the basis of the shift map. The arrangement includes two maps, the one A to be used when the performance of the engine 100 is in the reference condition and the other B to work in the condition in which the engine performance has dropped, and the ECU 1000 has a circuit to sense the performance of the engine 100 and a circuit to control the shifting by making changing-over from the map A to the map B if the performance is dropped.
