PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin cellulose ester film used as a protecting film for a polarizing plate which is suppressed in foreign matter deposition and remarkably improved in deterioration such as foreign matter deposition and scratch generation, for the purpose of coping with the enhancement of the productivity (increase in the production amount) of a liquid crystal display device, namely the polarizing plate. SOLUTION: The cellulose ester film contains an ultraviolet absorber. The ultraviolet absorber is liquid at 25°C and the content thereof is 0.5-2.5 wt% based on the weight of the cellulose ester. The cellulose ester film has a spectral transmittance of at least 93.5% at the wavelength of 500 nm and at least 70.0% at the wavelength of 400 nm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
