MANAGEMENT OF VIRTUAL COMPUTER FOR UTILIZING SHARED RESOURCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide functionality in a virtual computer operating system which helps to match the needs of an application (s) running on each virtual computer to an available resource. SOLUTION: In a processing method for utilizing a resource in the virtual computer operating system, the virtual computer operating system has many virtual computers, and a share of the resource is allocated to each of the virtual computers. The processing method has a step for automatically monitoring the utilization by one virtual computer of the resource allocated to the one virtual computers and a step for automatically cloning the one virtual computer when the one virtual computer needs an additional resource and also for allocating a share of the resource obtained from the shares of other of virtual computers among the virtual computers to the clone so that the resultant shares allocated to the one virtual computer and the clone together are greater than the share allocated to the one virtual computer before the one virtual computer is cloned.
