PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optoelectric type encoder capable of easily and accurately aligning a fixed slit plate and a light-receiving element. SOLUTION: A rotating shaft is arranged, in such a way that its axis may pass through the center of a rotating shaft through-hole 19a of a bottom wall part 19. The fixed slit plate 7 is mounted to the bottom wall part 19, with reference to the center of the rotating shaft through hole 19a. The light-receiving element 13 is fixed to a circuit board 11 for mounting the light-receiving element with reference to the center of the circuit board 11 for mounting the light-receiving element. A side wall part 21 of a base member 1 is integrally provided with a plurality of protrusion parts protruded to the side of the circuit board 11 for mounting the light-receiving element. The circuit board 11 for mounting the light-receiving element is provided with a plurality of positioning through holes, in which the plurality of protrusion parts are each fitted without plays. By fitting the plurality of protrusion parts in the plurality of positioning through-holes, the center of the rotating shaft through-hole 19a is made to coincide with the center of the circuit board 11 for mounting the light-receiving element in a relation of facing linearly.
