PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wooden movable wall simple in structure to reduce a manufacturing cost, with all of main external components made of wood, and full of artistic effect to soften uneasiness and fatigue of students even a little in a wooden movable partition device installed when partitioning a school building to form classrooms. SOLUTION: The movable wall is provided with sash pulleys fitted to both sides of the upper end of the movable wall so as to be movable along a ceiling rail; and an upper pressure contact member brought into pressure contact with the ceiling rail, and a lower pressure contact member brought into pressure contact with a floor face to fix the movable wall in a prescribed place. A wooden upper rail 1, a wooden lower rail 2 and both wooden styles 3, 3 and further wooden intermediate rails 4, 4 if necessary are used and framed to form a frame body, and wooden panels 6 are fitted in spaces partitioned by the respective rails, or sliding doors 5, 7 are mounted. The styles 3 are formed in U-shaped cross section and fitted with shielding members 25 on the outside. A pressure contact device 20 for projecting the upper and lower pressure contact members 18, 19 is held in the internal space 15 of the style 3, and both ends of the upper and lower pressure contact members 18, 19 are connected to upper and lower rods of the pressure contact device 20.
