PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet discharge device capable of realizing high production efficiency by highly keeping discharge precision while suppressing the clogging of a discharge head or the deterioration of drive parts, in an ink jet device for discharging a highly viscous functional liquid such as lubricating oil or a resin, and provide a preserving case and a liquid droplet discharge method. SOLUTION: In the liquid droplet discharge device 10 having a head unit 21 equipped with a discharge head for pressurizing the functional liquid in the cavity communicating with nozzles to discharge the same from the nozzles, a tank for storing the functional liquid discharged from the head unit 21 and a liquid supply passage for supplying the functional liquid to the discharge head from the tank, the head unit 21 is preserved in a preserving case 50 in the same atmosphere as the using state of the head unit 21.
