PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-temperature cooling crushing method which can cool an object being a gas-containing solid shell and being to be crushed by the consumption of a small amount of a liquefied gas within a short time to an ultralow temperature at which its crushing and detoxification can be performed and can therefore perform its crushing and detoxification at a high efficiency at a low operating cost. SOLUTION: In crushing the object being the gas-containing solid shell and being to be crushed by utilizing low-temperature embrittlement realized by cooling to the ultralow temperature, the object is collision-jet-cooled by a refrigeration system, the object is cooled with the liquefied gas to cause its low-temperature embrittlement and to solidify the gas, and the solid shell and an internal fluid are simultaneously crushed with a crusher.
