PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge treatment apparatus for solubilizing sludge sufficiently, and a sludge treatment method using the same. SOLUTION: Sludge is ultrasonically treated in an ultrasonic treatment tank 1 and physically solubilized and dispersed to be enhanced in solid-liquid separability and the dispersed treated matter enhanced in the solid-liquid separability is efficiently subjected to solid-liquid separation in a solid-liquid separation tank 2 to be separated into a separated treated liquid and a separated solid component which facilitates acid fermentation. This separated solid component is efficiently subjected to the acid fermentation in an acid fermentation tank 3 to be solubilized in a biologically reactive manner. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
