APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PLATE OF MAGNESIUM ALLOY, CHARACTERISTIC OF IGNITION AND EXPLOSION, BY WHEEL-BAND CONTINUOUS CASTING

PURPOSE: To maximize productivity by directly continuously casting a magnesium alloy plate from molten magnesium alloy using a casting wheel a surface part of which is formed in a plate cross-sectional shape and a casting band rotated with being contacted with the casting wheel, thereby substantially reducing a shape forming process. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a sealed melting furnace (1) for containing magnesium alloy and melting the aluminum alloy by heating; a sealed heat reserving furnace (3) an upper part of which is penetratingly connected to a sealed moving runner (2) penetratingly installed at a lower part of the melting furnace; a casting runner (4) which is penetratingly installed at a lower part of the heat reserving furnace, and on an upper part of which a protection gas injection pipe (5) is installed to discharge molten magnesium alloy; a casting wheel (6) on the surface of which a groove part (6a) is formed to continuously cast the molten magnesium alloy by receiving molten magnesium alloy from the casting runner; a casting band (7) rotated with being contacted with an upper part of the groove part of the casting wheel; a lower guide roll (8) contacted with the casting wheel on a lower part of the casting wheel with the casting band being between the casting wheel and the lower guide roll; a band tension roll (9) for adjusting tension of the casting band as guiding the casting band; and a band reduction roll (10) installed right above the casting wheel to control roll force of the casting band.
