SYSTEM FOR MONITORING MOVEMENT OF VEHICLE, PARTICULARLY CONCERNED WITH MONITORING DRIVER'S SAFETY OPERATION WITHIN SAFE DRIVING REGION

PURPOSE: A vehicle monitoring system for monitoring a driver's safety operation within a safe driving region is provided to induce the driver's safety operation by monitoring continuously insurant's speeding. CONSTITUTION: A GPS receiver(312) is used for receiving GPS signals from a plurality of GPS satellites. A first memory(313) is used for storing road information including a speed limit within a safe driving region. A second memory(314) is used for storing speeding data. A microcomputer(319) is used for deciding the speeding by comparing the speed limit within the safe driving region with the real driving speed obtained from the location information defined by the GPS signals of the GPS satellites when a vehicle runs the safe driving region. The decided speeding data are stored in the second memory.
