<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multipoint conference system for supporting smooth proceedings so that a meeting can be carried out smoothly, while significantly reducing the chairperson's burden. <P>SOLUTION: The multipoint conference system comprises a plurality of terminals located at different locations and a server 6 connected to the plurality of terminals via a communication line. The server 6 includes a database 22 for storing a proceedings schedule and a multipoint controller 20 for controlling the communication between the plurality of terminals. The server 6 controls the multipoint controller 20, based on the proceedings schedule and switches communication between the server 6 and the plurality of terminals. For example, the proceedings schedule includes authority information for differentiating the presenter terminal and the non-presenter terminals.
