METAL CHELATE DYE AND WATER-BASED INK JET RECORDING LIQUID AND INK JET RECORDING METHOD EACH USING THE SAME DYE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording liquid containing a metal chelate azo dye and excellent in ozone resistance compared with a conventional recording liquid.

SOLUTION: The metal chelate dye comprises a water-soluble azo metal chelate compound formed from an azo-based compound represented by general formula (1) [wherein the general formula (1) denotes an azo-based compound having at least one hydrophilic groups in the molecule; X1denotes a plurality of atoms necessary for forming at least one 5-7-membered ring heterocyclic ring; Ar1is a naphthyl group represented by general formula (2) to (4) (wherein Y1is a chelating group; Z1is an arbitrary substituent group; Z2is a sulfamoyl group substituted with an aromatic carbon ring or an aromatic heterocyclic ring; a is an integer of 0-5 and b is an integer of 1-6 wherein when a and b are each ≥2, a plurality of Z1s and Z2s each may be different)] and a metal atom.
