摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which realizes recording and reproduction with a recording density exceeding the diffraction limit of a pickup lens, which can not be realized by a conventional optical recording medium, by applying an organic thin film wherein a dispersion structure of metal super fine particles (metal nano cluster) of a nanometer size is constructed in an organic polymer and to provide its recording and reproducing method. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has the organic thin film as a recording layer. The organic thin film contains as a principal component a block copolymer having two or more polymer blocks non-compatible with each other and contains the metal super fine particles (the metal nano cluster) in only one phase of micro phase separation structure of the block copolymer, and the phase containing the metal super fine particles (the metal nano cluster) has a spherical or cylindrical structure. The optical recording medium and its recording and reproducing method can be obtained which realize recording and reproduction with the recording density exceeding the diffraction limit of the pickup lens which can not be realized by a conventional optical recording medium by applying the organic thin film wherein the dispersion structure of the metal super fine particles (the metal nano cluster) of a nanometer size is constructed in the organic polymer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
