<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an excellent image by restoring the undesired rise in resistance of a secondary transfer roller in a short period of time. <P>SOLUTION: A secondary transfer roller 12 having a heater 31 on the inside of a core bar 12a is abutted on an intermediate transfer belt 7. At the time of transferring a toner image (at the time of image formation), a voltage is impressed to the core bar 12a by a positive power supply 32b and a toner image formed on the intermediate transfer belt 7 is transferred to a transfer material 25. At the time of non-transfer of a toner image (non-formation of an image), a negative bias is impressed to the core bar 12a by a negative power supply 32a and the secondary transfer roller 12 is heated by the heater 31 through the core bar 12a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
