<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of character input or character conversion by considering, when presenting a character string included in a conversion history as a character conversion candidate, that a word, which is not reusable as it is, is partially included therein. <P>SOLUTION: In a character conversion device 10, a character input part 16 acquires an input character string consisting of one character to several characters inputted by a user. When an instruction acceptance part 14 acquires an instruction of input saving from the user, a conversion part 24 extracts conversion character strings the head characters of which are matched to the input character string from a dictionary storage part 18 and presents them as conversion candidates. When any conversion candidate is selected by the user's instruction, this conversion character string is displayed as a conversion result on a screen, the position of a proper noun is also displayed in a different form, and a cursor is moved to this position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
